Here’s the truth: If you want to practice law differently, then you have to be different.
Everything you experience, or will experience, begins with you.
If you want to be a better, happier lawyer, you have to learn to be a better and more empowered you.
You will never become more than you believe you can be.
Another truth: If you want to lead others, you have to lead yourself first, with a dedication to your own development. In fact, success or failure begins with how you approach leading yourself.
But at some point in this adversarial career, we all experience some or all of these challenging thought processes:
Humbling and vulnerable moments like these can be scary.
Here’s another secret:
Investing in your well-being is the number one contributor to improving your performance and building success.
I’m passionate about helping other lawyers overcome the cycle of stress and burnout that leads to sacrificing your own well-being for the sake of your work performance.
If you’re anything like I was years ago, you might be thinking that this all sounds far-fetched and 'too good to be true.'
Back then, I had a successful trial practice with lots of winning verdicts but was constantly losing in my personal life. I was barely surviving, to the point that I found myself in the emergency room with chest pains that I feared were a heart attack.
As I’m sure you can imagine, it was the reality check I needed. I began to take simple, practical steps toward a better life.
My stress levels decreased.
I felt like the calm during the storm.
With those changes to my worldview came changes to my law practice. It was more fulfilling. I was more present. I made a bigger impact - with both my clients and my staff.
As a result, I became the calm, joyful, power-performer I am now. I saw my personal and financial happiness also grow.
Now, I mentor other lawyers to help them achieve that same fulfillment and success.
Mind Over Law strategic leadership training doesn’t just teach lawyers how to strategize better. It’s a change-oriented, future-focused method that equips you to practice law and live life in a way that is more fulfilling and successful.
We start with clarity. Our leadership coaching programs kick off with leadership and behavioral assessments followed by in-depth conversations about your expectations, ambitions, strengths, weaknesses, and much more.
This is when we dive deep, and get clear on your mission and purpose, followed by your vision and goals. From hopes and dreams and aspirations and even the things you’d prefer to avoid entirely, this is your time to envision a future that lights you up.
Next comes the magic and the superpower stuff. We’ll create a plan based on your vision, values, and unique strengths and talents. It’s the magic that drives you to succeed based on who and how you want to show up in the world. You will discover an unstoppable drive fueled by your deepest desires - the heart-based stuff that keeps you resilient and empowers your trajectory.
Part I: Assessment
We begin by assessing your current state. What’s working for you? What’s not working? In what areas do you wish to grow? What’s holding you back?
This is where the magic happens and I’ll tell you why...I have an ability that most don’t have. I can see what others can’t, the energy of what limits you. After a short time with me, I can discern the places you truly want to go to, what you fear the most, what is holding you back. My clients call it “life-changing,” I call it my superpower.
Part II: Empowerment
Once you have awareness of what limits you, we can shift to the next level. This is where you let go of fears and tap into your strengths. With a few empowering practices, you can understand who you are at a deeper level, which creates momentum for you to continue your journey.
Part III: Vision
This is where you tap into your own superpower to create what you truly desire. You will learn to develop a clear understanding of your vision. I call it creating “destinies” and my clients call it “transformative.” The bottom line is that you will choose what you create.
Part IV: Strategy
Once you shift your limitations and know your vision, the strategy unfolds. In this step, we work to map out your next steps for growth.
Part V: Lead
You emerge as a leader who creates change for your clients, your team and your community, forging a lasting and impactful legacy.
"When I was introduced to Lexlee, my life was chaotic; I was managing, but I wasn't living. I had not made time to enjoy the life I had built, honor myself with the gifts that come with personal success, or really even get to know myself at all. I was a very successful lawyer, a great friend and my own worst enemy.
In the short time I have worked with Lexlee, the changes have been phenomenal. I’ve made changes inside, where it counts the most.
For the first time in my life I feel loved, I feel at home, and I feel deserving of good things. Although most people cannot physically see the changes, those closest to me can feel them: the extra boisterous laugh, the twinkle of excitement in my eyes, the peacefulness I exhibit under extreme stress."

"We’ve learned how to be more powerful and to step into the law firm we wanted to become. Lexlee’s Mind Over Law methods worked! Lexlee is one of the most creative, spontaneous, and innovative persons I’ve ever met."
-Don Malarick, Ohio Trial Lawyer -
"There’s a lot of anxiety that comes with being a lawyer... and especially being a solo practitioner. I asked Lexlee to help me by being an objective eye to review the year past for my firm. She looked at the past financials, case load, marketing, and my own time allocations. It was really helpful to have someone else review things and give me insights into situations I wasn’t seeing for myself. She gave me suggestions for how to spend my marketing time, case load and being selective about it, and how to balance my life so I could better manage everything.
That also came in handy when my anxiety would climb later in the year. Then, I could reach out to Lexlee who, due to the earlier work she had done, already knew my issues. With a one hour session, she could help me get back to a productive mode rather than letting the anxiety cycle get worse. Quite frankly, I don’t know how solos do it without someone like Lexlee to help keep our sanity!"

Q: Do we work in person or virtually?
A. Both options are available. Usually, 1:1 coaching is done on a weekly basis, via Zoom or Skype. But, often, one on one coaching clients will choose to have a VIP day with me in Louisiana (yep, be ready for some awesome food in bayou country). This allows you to leave the office behind and truly tune into what you want to accomplish, whether that be to create a vision for your year or prepare for trial.
Q. Can I choose the areas of focus where I need most help?
A: Yes! We will create a vision for the areas in which you want to grow. The topics can range from revenue to personal growth goals. Intensive customized coaching is about where you want to be - you choose the focus.
Q: Can a VIP deep dive session be about our firm’s overall goals?
A: Yes. We can work on personal, firm goals or both. These VIP sessions are customized to your most important needs.
Q: Can I choose to have you help prepare me emotionally and mentally for trial?
A: Yes! My recommendation is to set aside some time to focus completely on preparing yourself mentally, emotionally and physically for trial. We all have fear, anxiety and limiting beliefs that can get in the way. We will customize your preparation time to best suit you. Then, you can choose if you want help with any phase of trial from voir dire to closing.
